The Datai is an award winning hotel design conceptualized by Kerry Hill in the early 90’s. Jaya Ibrahim and us were brought in to refresh the property some 15 years later. We proceeded to a renewed interior design for the various parts of the hotel renovated over a few years. All rooms were done a new, the villas were enlarged, the main restaurant was completely redesigned as well as the beach bar and restaurant. We broke away from the orange wood colours for a more sleek approach, creating a more sophisticated and luxurious interior to this destination, whilst still respecting the concept that was in place and its natural surroundings.
